Spectrum Drawings with 4th Grade in Progress

Hot and cold lines

Today in the west wing we learned about hot colors and cold colors. Then we reviewed vertical and Horizontal lines. We made artwork using hot  and cold colored strips of paper. (Also reinforcing our glue stick skills)😉

Mixing secondary colors

We took the primary colors (but in cyan magenta and yellow) and mixed two combinations of them together and came up with a secondary color. Orange, green and violet in all. 

This what we made with our color mixing. We touched on shape, line,  texture, mood, setting and movement. - and had a blast making these cool works!!!!

Maze lines and shapes 3rd grade

This month in art, the theme is LINE and SHAPE

The 4th and 5th grades learned  about Menhdi, the marriage tradition from India; where they decorate the hands and feet of the bride and sometimes the groom with henna designs made with lines, shapes and patterns. The students traced around their hand and created their own designs with marker.
